African Mining Services (AMS) a member of the Ausdrill Group has recently introduced to the West African mining industry DT HI-Load, also a member of the Ausdrill Group.
DT HI-Load designs and manufactures the lightweight Hercules Dump Truck Body. This uniquely engineered tray increases mine productivity and bottom line profitability with increased payload advantage.
The heavy duty design of DT HI-Load trays provides outstanding wear resistance with the unique panel construction greatly reducing down time through the use of cutting edge technology and state of the art materials.
AMS currently has 18 DT HI-Load trays in their fleet and anticipate another order of 10 to complete the new Caterpillar 777F Fleet of 28 at its Perseus Mining Gold Project (PMGP) in Ghana.
AMS is pleased to introduce DT HI-Load to its fleet and is another typical example of the vertical integration business model within the AUSDRILL Groups driven by our Managing Director, Mr. Ron Sayers’s.
Savings in areas including tyres and repairs are expected with an increase in haul load per cycle will mean the DT HI-Load trays will drive efficiencies on-site at PMGP. AMS believes it will be a good ‘showroom’ for DT HI-load to further expand its business in West Africa.

Liebherr commenced operations in Ghana in 1997, then as a subsidiary of Liebherr Australia. Liebherr made this move at the request of Ausdrill, who wanted to use (3 x 994’s,1 x984) Liebherr machines in Ghana with West African Mining Services (WAMS) and then African Mining Services (AMS).
This positive relationship has grown over the years and by the end of 2011 the Liebherr machine population will be 27 in West Africa with AMS.
The R994-200 was a great machine for Liebherr and AMS but was recently superseded by the R9250.
The R9250 mining excavator integrates the latest technology to perform efficiently in all types of mining environments. Even under the hardest conditions, it achieves high productivity. Liebherr’s electronic machine control, also known as “Litronic”, contributes to fast loading cycles and easy control, even if multiple movements are required at the same time. The electronic control of the hydraulic system enhances pressure and flow distribution as a function of the machine movement.
In September 2011 the first R9250 excavator sold to AMS was commissioned at the newest Gold Mine in Ghana, owned and operated by Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited and where AMS holds a 63 month surface mining contract. This machine has an operating weight of 250,000 kgs with 1,287 engine horsepower and a 13.5 m³ bucket.
Liebherr and AMS are very happy to continue their strong relationship and are excited with the imminent commissioning of this new machine.

African Mining Services (AMS) has continued its expansion in West Africa following the project win from Golden Star Resources, for Pampe Mining Operations at Bogoso Gold Mine. Underway as of August 2011, the project is expected to generate USD$48M over 36 months. Initial mining by AMS will concentrate on a pit waste cut back to access ore below the existing pit floor.
The Pampe deposit is an existing pit that has been mined by Golden Star Resources from 2007 to 2008. The proven and probable reserves at Pampe are 1.7 million tonnes, grading 3.5 grams per tonne (g/t) and totalling 191,000 ounces of gold. The location of this project is strategically important for AMS, as it is only 30kms from the Bankyim maintenance and operations facility.
AMS and Golden Star Resources continue to build on their relationship, as AMS have completed a number of minor contracts which have shown the capability of AMS to deliver on schedule under difficult conditions.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary African Mining Services (AMS), Ausdrill Limited (ASX: ASL) announces that it has received a Letter of Intent from Adamus Resources Limited to award a mining contract for the Nzema Gold Project, located in Ghana.
